Hi, I'm Richard but most people know me as Dz, a Manchester based experienced and adaptable lighting cameraman that has worked for mainstream television broadcasters and large corporations specialising in sports (features/documentaries), corporate work and music gigs. I love what I do and am dedicated to delivering high-quality footage that meets your creative vision. With over 30 plus years of working in the broadcast industry, I've been extremely lucky to have been involved in capturing some amazing footage from across the globe that including extreme sports, corporate work and music gigs, working with companies including the BBC, ITV, C4, Sky Sports along with numerous smaller production companies, concert and corporate work with Creamfields, The Prodigy and companies such as Overbury, O'Neill, MAG, Pfizer, Chiemsee to name a few. My extensive experience allows me to provide valuable insights and recommendations regarding camera and lighting setups, tailored to your specific project, I work well either within a team or by myself.

Cameras/lenses and Lights
I own a range of Sony cameras suitable for most shoots. Owning my camera equipment ensures that each item is well maintained and I have a thorough technical knowledge of all my equipment. My kit has been setup primarily for interviews, features and documentaries and I am currently using a Sony Fx9 and Fx6 with both having a dynamic range of 15+ stops due to a full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and a two Sony ZV E1 mirrorless cameras which use the same sensor as the Fx3. This wide dynamic range allows for capturing a vast amount of detail in both shadows and highlights that can be paired with either IronGlass MkII Soviet Cine prime lenses known for dreamy flares and swirly bokeh, or a 3 lens set of DZO Catta zooms that have a natural, warm authentic character with sharp details centre frame that fall off nicely towards the edges and pleasing, creamy bokeh. They prioritise realistic warm colour reproduction, natural skin tones and have a very different look compared to my Sony glass (zoom & primes) known for their exceptional sharpness, high contrast, and ability to produce a smooth, pleasing bokeh along with Nanlite/Godox COB and panel lights, various modifiers/diffusion, slider and sound kit.
